Spikey problem for Wanzek Construction – SuperCrane™ 1485
Lastly, Preston Rentals once more exhibited their first-class work throughout their partnership with Wanzek Construction for a redevelopment of an old rail mill. The production of the new EVRAZ’s rail mill is located in Pueblo, CO. and will be constructed from new high-quality technology, which will run on solar power, which is a wonderful aspect for the community.
Wanzek Construction turned to Preston Rentals to help solve a spikey problem that stumped their progress onsite. The large-scale challenge arose in the navigation process of the concrete flooring in production, as there were protruding metal spikes that created traffic and difficult access points for all involved. Originally several 6 & 8-ton carry-decks were assisting within this project, but they couldn’t get passed the complication.
The solution was two SuperCrane™ 1485s, which were successful in travelling within these compact spaces. These crawler cranes offered a 4,400 lb. pick and carry capacity that could easily maneuver around the spike embeds, allowing materials and equipment to be distributed safely.
Wanzek Construction expressed their enthusiasm for our cranes, stating they enabled performance to run smoothly through the decline of tireless labor and machinery costs when installing their production tables.
Preston Rentals is proud to have a partner like Wanzek Construction and is thankful for the opportunity to work on this project. This will be an ongoing project that will extended until Summer 2023!
Wanzek Construction turned to Preston Rentals to solve a critical problem on EVRAZ’s new rail mill in Pueblo, CO. These crawlers offer a 4,400 lb. pick and carry capacity and can easily maneuver around the spike embeds to safely get materials and equipment into place. These unique cranes offer a small footprint of only 8’ 2” wide and are ideal for tight areas.
