Curtain wall installations, otherwise known as façade installations, is the process of which the window and glass structures are positioned on the exterior of the building. The window framing spans from multiple levels, ultimately creating a continuous façade, that consist of aluminum framed commercial glass or metal planes.
The façade is positioned to create a glass architecture piece that produces a delicate and attractive looking building. For that reason, curtain wall installation equipment needs to be specific and steady to ensure the panels are balanced and stable whilst being transported and installed onsite. Therefore, allow us to share how mini cranes ultimately help with the overall installation of a curtain wall:
How do they work together?
Mini cranes and curtain wall installations often go hand in hand, as without the help of a mini crane, curtain walls cannot be efficiently transported and handled onsite.
To explain, the installation first starts with brackets being created and fixed into place to transfer the acting loads of these glass panel structures. These brackets form the link between the curtain wall and the structure, allowing them to be securely fixed into place.
Conducting a detailed set out and bracket process is important to the installation, by using an experienced team of surveyors, who perform checks to ensure there are no problems and all brackets are safe to use.
Subsequently, the mini crane is rigged to the glass panel through a hook and chain, to support and lift the panel into place, and then for workers to connect the fasters between the panel and the building structure. When the panel is fastened, the crane can release and start the process all over again.
How are they beneficial?
Designed to help with an array of different construction requirements, mini cranes are the perfect partner to choose for your curtain wall project. These machines are available in a range of diverse sizes and designs, allowing for both compact and smaller cranes to help with construction inside a building or larger cranes to reach and transport sizeable materials.
Both internal or external glazing and walling can be completed by larger or smaller compact excavators. Larger mini cranes or tower cranes can easily be the equipment to reach and transport these panels to the fixed building bracket. However, smaller mini cranes can also achieve this, but on the inside of the building. These smaller cranes have a slim body that has been made to fit into compact and small-scaled environments.
Mini, small, medium, and large mini cranes also have the added benefit of being easily transportable.
